# The affiliate program

## Join
Partner sign-up in the dashboard isn't open yet. [Apply on the Partners page](https://wholayer.com/partners) and we'll tell you when it opens. Once it does, you join from **Partners** in the dashboard and get your referral link right away.

## How referrals are counted
- A click on your link sets a first-party cookie, `_wl_ref`, on wholayer.com for 90 days. It holds only your code.
- If the visitor clicks another partner's link later, that link replaces yours (last click wins).
- If they create a WhoLayer account within 90 days, their new workspace is credited to you. That's permanent: later clicks don't change it.
- People who already have an account, or who join a teammate's workspace by invitation, aren't counted as referrals.
- Clicks are counted as a daily total per link. We don't store IP addresses or anything else about the visitor.

## What you earn
- **25%** of every payment a referred workspace makes, excluding tax, for **24 months** from its first payment. Upgrades count.
- Commission is based on what we actually collect. If a payment is refunded or charged back, we deduct the matching commission.
- Self-referrals don't earn commission: your own workspaces, sign-ups using your company email domain, and workspaces that share your billing account.

## Getting paid
- Commission is **pending** for 30 days after each payment, then becomes **payable**.
- We pay once a month, by hand, when your payable balance is at least **$50**. Below that it rolls over to the next month.
- Choose **PayPal** (enter your PayPal email) or **bank transfer** (we'll contact you for your details) under **Payout method** on the Partners page.

## Your dashboard
The **Partners** page shows your links with copy buttons, clicks, sign-ups, paying customers, pending, payable, and paid commission, and a statement of every commission, deduction, and payout.
