# Agency mode: client workspaces with budgets

Agency client workspaces are included on **Scale** and above.

## Set up a client
1. In your agency workspace, open **Agency**.
2. Enter the client's name and a monthly credit budget, then create it. Only the workspace owner can create clients.
3. Click **Open** to work in the client workspace: add the client's sites, keys, and destinations as usual.
4. Under **Settings**, invite the client's staff as **Read-only (client staff)**. They can see people, companies, and usage, but can't change settings, create API keys, or spend credits from the dashboard.

## How billing works
- A client workspace has no plan or card of its own. It uses your plan and spends from your agency wallet. You pay; nothing is billed to the client.
- Each client can spend up to its monthly budget (resetting on the 1st, UTC). It also can't go past your wallet's balance or your overage limit. When the budget runs out, the client's person-level identification and API calls pause until you raise it or the month resets; company-level ID keeps working.
- Refunds for reported results go back to your wallet and free up that client's budget.

## Keep track
**Agency** lists every client with spend against its budget. Your **Usage** page shows all clients' spend this month, and each client charge appears in your ledger as Client usage. Owners and admins can change budgets at any time; a budget of 0 pauses the client.

If you downgrade below Scale, existing clients keep working; only creating new ones needs the plan.
