# Send shoppers to Braze

> Shopper ID with Braze: what's charged, what's supported, and how to connect it.

Category: Destinations

Included on the **Growth** plan and above.

## What you're charged
Before we charge, we check whether the shopper is already in your Braze. New shoppers cost 2 credits, once; shoppers already there cost 1 credit, are never duplicated, and get a **WhoLayer Returning Shopper** event instead.

## What Braze supports
- **Checks your list first:** yes.
- **Refunds bounces:** hard bounces only (Braze has no API for spam complaints per person).
- **Deliverability Guard:** a fixed cap of 50 new contacts a day (or your own setting, if lower), because we can't read your rates.
- **Holdout report:** no, so nobody is held out and every new shopper is sent.

## Connect it
1. In Braze, open **Settings → APIs and Identifiers** and create a REST API key with **users.track**, **users.export.ids**, and **email.hard_bounces**.
2. Note your **REST endpoint** on the same page, like `rest.iad-01.braze.com`. It must match your dashboard's instance.
3. In WhoLayer, open **Destinations**, choose **Braze**, and paste the key and endpoint.
4. Click **Send test**, then build a Canvas triggered by the **WhoLayer Shopper Identified** or **WhoLayer Returning Shopper** custom event. We never set a phone number or a subscription group.

## Good to know
- Braze has no API to read spam complaints per person, so only hard bounces are refunded automatically.
- Braze has no account-wide email counts, so the Deliverability Guard uses a fixed daily cap.
- Braze purchase data is only available as totals, so there's no holdout report.
- Opted-out people are never sent, and opt-outs take effect immediately.
- We encrypt your key when you save it and only ever show its last characters.
