# Moving off Clearbit Reveal?

If you relied on Clearbit's free visitor tools or want IP-to-company visitor ID without moving to a HubSpot hub plan, WhoLayer's company-level visitor ID is free and unlimited on every plan, and it works with or without HubSpot.

Checked November 4, 2026.

## What happened

Acquired

Clearbit joined HubSpot. HubSpot ended Clearbit's free tools, including the Weekly Visitor Report, on April 30, 2025, and the Logo API on December 1, 2025, pointing visitor-intent users to Buyer Intent. [\[4\], November 4, 2026](https://wholayer.com/switch/clearbit-reveal#source-4)

## What maps across

Every WhoLayer endpoint and MCP tool below exists today. Where there's no equivalent, we say so.

Clearbit Reveal jobs mapped to WhoLayer
| What you used Clearbit Reveal for | WhoLayer | REST endpoint | MCP tool | Status |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Reveal which companies visit your site | Company-level visitor ID through the tag, free and unlimited | `GET /v1/visitors?level=company` | `list_visitors`<br>Free. | Available |
| Weekly visitor report email | Email digest destination, daily or weekly | — | — | Available |
| Company enrichment by domain | Company profile: size, revenue range, industry, HQ | `GET /v1/companies/{domain}` | `get_company`<br>1 credit when a profile is returned; nothing if not found. | Partial |
| Person enrichment by email | Enrich a person by email | `POST /v1/people/enrich` | `enrich_person`<br>1 credit per work email, 2 per personal email, and 5 per connectable mobile returned, plus 10 for a reverse lookup when you send only an email and we find the person. Nothing if no match. | Available (US only) |

## What you'll lose

WhoLayer isn't a complete replacement. Plainly:

- There's no real-time IP-to-company lookup endpoint. Company identification happens through the WhoLayer tag on your site.
- There's no logo API.
- HubSpot sync is one-way: contacts, their company, and a visit note. WhoLayer doesn't write intent scores or workflows into HubSpot.

## How to switch

1. Step 1

    ### Create a free account

Sign up with your work email. The Free plan needs no card.

2. Step 2

    ### Create an API key

Under Settings, API keys. Use a wl\_test\_... key first: every endpoint and MCP tool returns sandbox data and never spends credits.

3. Step 3

    ### Install the tag

Paste one async script in your site header or install through Google Tag Manager. Company-level ID starts right away.

4. Step 4

    ### Pick where visits go

Send them to Slack, a signed webhook, an email digest, or HubSpot as contacts.

## Questions

### Is company-level ID really free?

Yes. Company identification doesn't use credits on any plan, including Free.

### Do I need HubSpot?

No. WhoLayer works on its own, and HubSpot is one optional destination.
