Send people to Salesforce
Connect Salesforce with a sign-in. We update matching Contacts or create and update Leads by email.
Salesforce sync is included on the Scale plan and above. If the option says coming soon, needs setup, our Salesforce app isn't switched on yet. Until it is, use a webhook with Zapier, Make, or n8n.
Set it up
- In WhoLayer, open Destinations, choose Salesforce, and pick your org type: Production or Developer Edition, or Sandbox.
- Click Connect Salesforce, sign in with a Salesforce user that can create Leads and edit Contacts, and approve access.
- You're sent back to Destinations. Click Send test, then look for Avery Sample under Leads and delete it.
What we write
- If a Contact already has the email: we update its title and log a completed activity with the pages viewed. We never create duplicate leads for your existing contacts.
- Otherwise, a Lead is found by email (unconverted) or created, with first and last name, title, company, website, Lead Source "WhoLayer" (new leads only), and a description listing the pages viewed.
Good to know
- We store only an encrypted refresh token, and get short-lived access from it when we send. To disconnect, delete the destination here, and revoke WhoLayer under Connected Apps OAuth Usage in Salesforce.
- If your Lead Source picklist is restricted, add a "WhoLayer" value, or we create leads without a source and say so in the delivery log.
- If access is revoked, deliveries fail with a reconnect message. Edit the destination, tick Reconnect, and save.
