Send shoppers to Omnisend
Shopper ID with Omnisend: what's charged, what's supported, and how to connect it.
Included on the Growth plan and above.
What you're charged
Before we charge, we check whether the shopper is already in your Omnisend. New shoppers cost 2 credits, once; shoppers already there cost 1 credit, are never duplicated, and get a WhoLayer Returning Shopper event instead.
What Omnisend supports
- Checks your list first: yes.
- Refunds bounces: no. Report a bounced shopper and it's refunded under the usual rules.
- Deliverability Guard: the daily cap adjusts to your 7-day complaint and bounce rates.
- Holdout report: no, so nobody is held out and every new shopper is sent.
Connect it
- In Omnisend, open Store settings → API keys and create a key with access to contacts, events, and analytics.
- In WhoLayer, open Destinations, choose Omnisend, and paste the key.
- Click Send test. New shoppers are created with email status non-subscribed and no welcome message, because they haven't opted in.
- Build an automation triggered by the WhoLayer Shopper Identified or WhoLayer Returning Shopper custom event.
Good to know
- Omnisend reports bounces and complaints only as totals, not per person, so bounces aren't refunded automatically. Report a bad result by hand instead.
- Omnisend's API doesn't let anyone read orders, so there's no holdout report.
- Opted-out people are never sent, and opt-outs take effect immediately.
- We encrypt your key when you save it and only ever show its last characters.
